What is AIQS-GC target screening analysis?

AIQS-GC is an automatic identification and quantification database system that uses a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GC-MS) in accordance with the Ministry of the Environment's "Provisional Manual for Screening Analysis Using AIQS-GC" for the purpose of screening analysis of chemical substances in water quality samples.
Using a calibration curve database created in advance, substances are identified and semi-quantified. Since it is possible to identify a large number of unknown substances, it is possible, for example, to quickly discover unknown harmful substances that affect the environment and quickly investigate the cause of the death of organisms in the aquatic environment. Substances can be added to the AIQS-GC database as needed.

What is GC Target Screening Analysis?

Our AIQS-GC targeted screening analysis

We have added 176 substances to the 943 substances that were registered in the commercially available database, making it possible to perform identification and semi-quantitative analysis of 1,119 substances at once.
In addition, at the National Environmental and Management Seminar held in Yokohama on September 27, 2024, sponsored by the Japan Environmental Measurement and Analysis Association, Yamada, a member of the Analytical Development Group in the Analytical Technology Department of the Environmental Technology Center at our headquarters, presented the results of his research on "Target screening analysis of river water using AIQS-GC" and won the "Excellence Award."

Features and Applications

Below we will introduce the features and applications of our AIQS-GC target screening analysis, which has many other achievements and results.

Three Features

Feature 01 Speed

Feature 01 Rapidity

The vast database makes analysis more efficient, and analysis time is significantly reduced compared to conventional methods.

Feature 02 Comprehensiveness

Feature 02 Comprehensiveness

It can comprehensively detect compounds registered in the database. Items can be added to the database at any time.

TOPICS

Feature 03: Economic efficiency

There is no need to create standard samples or calibration curves for each substance, making this an analytical method that is low-cost, labor-saving, and resource-saving.

Analysis flow

From start to finish, the analysis time is approximately 45 minutes . * *The time required for pretreatment and analysis varies depending on the sample .
We receive water quality samples, perform solid phase extraction and solvent extraction, concentrate and adjust the volume, and then perform measurement and analysis using GC-MS.
