Microbial community structure analysis and microbial species identification
Next-generation sequencing (NGS) analysis
We will conduct microbial community structure analysis using a next-generation sequencer (Illumina MiSeq system), as well as statistical analysis such as diversity analysis and ecological surveys of characteristic microorganisms.
Quantitative PCR (real-time PCR)
We perform comprehensive quantification of Eubacteria and Archaea, as well as quantification of specific bacteria such as nitrifying bacteria and methanogens. We also support the creation of quantification methods for desired microorganisms.
Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH)
The abundance and spatial distribution of specific bacteria, such as microorganisms attached to carriers, can be visualized by fluorescence microscopy.
Cloning analysis
We also support microbial community structure analysis using cloning methods, which allows for more accurate phylogenetic classification of dominant species than next-generation sequencing analysis.
Microbial Identification
We perform rapid identification of microorganisms using genetic analysis in accordance with the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, including identification of isolated bacteria (16S rRNA) and fungi (ITS).
Environmental microbiology testing
We can also provide testing for the following microorganisms:
- General bacteria/heterotrophic bacteria
- Total bacteria count (microscopic observation)
- Coliform bacteria, Escherichia coli, fecal coliform bacteria, O-157
- Legionella spp.
- Clostridium perfringens and anaerobic spore-forming bacteria
- E. coli phage
- Nitrifying bacteria, sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, iron bacteria, sulfur-oxidizing bacteria, sulfate-reducing bacteria
- Falling bacteria/airborne bacteria
- Other bacterial tests based on official methods and literature
Various microbial tests
Tests will be carried out according to various test methods.
- Disinfection effect test against bacteria and fungi
- Antibacterial evaluation test/Antibacterial test
- Minimum growth concentration (MIC)/minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) measurement
- Nitrification and denitrification rate test
- Biogas raw materials survey
- Other various vial tests
Environmental DNA analysis
By analyzing DNA from organisms released into the environment (environmental DNA) using next-generation sequencers, we can understand the organisms present in that environment without having to capture and investigate individual organisms.
We conduct analysis in accordance with the standard "Environmental DNA Survey and Experiment Manual" created by the Environmental DNA Technology Standardization Committee of the Environmental DNA Society, and specialized technicians who are skilled in genetic analysis and biological surveys will examine the detected data and report the analysis results.
